Terms of Use: Last updated: August 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Coinsel (“Coinsel,” “we,” “us”) at coinsel.io and any related apps or services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create a Coinsel account. By registering, you confirm you meet that requirement.
- You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide us.
- You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account per person. Don’t create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission, or use a false identity.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, is used fraudulently, or is inactive for an extended period, with notice where practical.
2. The Service
Coinsel is a price intelligence tool for graded coins and currency. Depending on your plan, the Service may let you:
- Look up graded coins by certification number and view PCGS price guide values, population data, eBay sold comps, and auction activity for that coin.
- Track a portfolio of holdings and set price alerts.
- Browse the Deals and Market pages, which surface active listings and series level trend data computed from the sources above.
- Use AI assisted tools, grading estimates, counterfeit risk flags, Live Dealer Check, and a melt value calculator, where available on your plan.
- Find local dealers, shops, and shows through the Local section.
- On the Pro plan, use Sell Signals, which ranks the holdings you have recorded a cost basis for as sell, hold, or watch, and estimates what each would net if sold today. See Section 6.
Pricing, population, and listing data is aggregated from third party sources including PCGS, NGC, eBay, and GreatCollections, and is cached and refreshed on a schedule, not in real time. See Section 6.
3. Subscriptions & billing
Coinsel is offered on three plans: Free, Plus, and Pro. Current pricing and the features and limits included on each plan are shown in Settings and on the plan comparison shown before checkout. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance.
- Payment processing. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Coinsel never receives or stores your full card number — see our Privacy Policy.
- Auto renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each billing period at the then current price until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. We don’t provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except where required by law.
- Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, we’ll notify you before the change applies to your account, and it will take effect at your next renewal at the earliest.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it, downgrade your account to Free, or suspend paid features until payment succeeds.
- Taxes. Displayed prices exclude any applicable sales, VAT, or similar taxes, which Stripe may calculate and add at checkout based on your location.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service using automated means outside of any API we explicitly publish for that purpose.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Coinsel’s data or price guide content as a standalone product or feed.
- Circumvent rate limits, tier gates, or other access controls.
- Use the Service to build a directly competing product.
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent content, or misrepresent a coin’s authenticity or grade using Coinsel’s tools.
- Interfere with the Service’s operation, including attempting to overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to it or its underlying infrastructure.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
5. AI generated content disclaimer
AI grading estimates, counterfeit risk flags, and Live Dealer Check results are estimates only and are not a substitute for professional grading by PCGS or NGC. Do not rely on them for buying, selling, or insurance decisions.
These features use the Anthropic API to analyze photos and descriptions you provide. They can be wrong about grade, authenticity, or anything else and a low counterfeit risk flag is not an authentication and does not mean a coin is genuine. Melt value calculations are based on spot metal prices and stated or estimated weight/purity; they are not an appraisal and do not account for numismatic premium.
Sell Signals is not an AI assisted feature. It is calculated by Coinsel from your own recorded holdings and previously collected sales data, and nothing about your holdings is sent to an AI provider to produce it. Its separate limitations are described in Section 6.
6. Market data, pricing, and content accuracy
PCGS guide values, population reports, eBay listings and sold comps, and GreatCollections auction data are pulled from third party sources on a caching and refresh schedule. They are not live, and can lag the actual market. Guide values are one input among several shown on Coinsel, not a guarantee of what a coin will sell for.
Nothing on Coinsel is an appraisal, a guarantee of authenticity or grade, investment advice, or an offer to buy or sell any coin. The Market page’s heat index, movers, and trend data are derived from the market data described above and are informational screens, not predictions or recommendations. Make your own judgment, and consult a professional, before making a purchase, sale, or submission decision based on anything shown here.
We work to keep data accurate but don’t warrant that any price, population figure, listing, or auction result is complete, current, or error free. If you spot data that looks wrong, please let us know.
Sell Signals
Sell Signals compares the cost basis and acquisition date you recorded for a holding against previously collected sold prices for the same coin and grade, and labels the holding sell, hold, or watch. It is an analysis of inventory you already own, calculated from information already in your account. It is not a forecast of the coin market, and it does not take into account your finances, tax position, objectives, or anything else about your circumstances.
A “sell” result is not a recommendation, solicitation, or advice to transact, and nothing in Sell Signals is investment, financial, or tax advice. Coinsel is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, appraiser, or fiduciary, and does not act on your behalf in any transaction. Any decision to sell, hold, insure, or submit a coin is yours alone.
- Net proceeds and net gain are estimates. They apply assumed marketplace fee, per order fee, and shipping figures, which are stated on the Sell Signals page and may not match what you are actually charged. They are calculated from a median of past sold prices, which is not a quote, an offer, or a price available to you. What a coin actually sells for will differ, and may differ substantially.
- Signals depend on data we may not have. Where too few verified comparable sales exist for a coin at its grade, we withhold a signal and say so, rather than inferring one. Sold comp data is collected on a schedule, is a sample rather than a complete record of the market, and can lag or omit real activity.
- The track record is a historical record, not a projection. Where the Service summarizes how its own past signals resolved, that summary describes past output on your holdings over a stated period and sample size. Past results do not indicate future results, and no level of accuracy is promised or guaranteed.
7. Affiliate disclosure
Coinsel participates in affiliate programs, including the eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates, and referral programs with bullion dealers and grading services. Some outbound links on the Service — for example, links to an eBay listing, an Amazon product, a bullion dealer, or a grading service submission page are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or take a qualifying action, Coinsel may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence the price guide values, sold comps, or other market data shown on Coinsel, and they don’t change which listings appear or how they’re ranked.
If you opt in to marketing email (see our Privacy Policy), we may also send you promotions or offers from these partners directly, curated and delivered by Coinsel itself — partners do not receive your email address or other contact information through this. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.
8. Third party links and services
The Service links to and displays data from third parties we don’t control, including PCGS, NGC, eBay, Amazon, GreatCollections, bullion dealers, and local dealers and shops. We aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices, and linking to them isn’t an endorsement. Your use of any third party site or service is governed by its own terms.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software, and Coinsel authored content, is owned by Coinsel or its licensors and protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non commercial use.
Third party data shown on the Service PCGS guide values and population data, eBay listings, auction results, and similar — remains the property of the party that supplies it, and your right to use it is limited to viewing it within the Service.
“Coinsel” and our logo are our trademarks. Don’t use them without our written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of the notes, photos, and other content you add to your portfolio, watchlists, or saved searches (“your content”). You grant Coinsel a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, store, and display your content back to you as part of operating the Service, including sending it to the Anthropic API when you use an AI assisted feature. You’re responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to submit it.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA, ESTIMATES, AND CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DON’T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY PRICE, GRADE ESTIMATE, OR OTHER DATA SHOWN IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COINSEL AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON DATA, PRICE ESTIMATES, SELL SIGNALS, ESTIMATED PROCEEDS, OR AI GENERATED CONTENT SHOWN ON IT INCLUDING A DECISION TO BUY, SELL, HOLD, INSURE, OR SUBMIT A COIN FOR GRADING EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Coinsel harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service or any feature of it with reasonable notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination. Including Sections 9 through 12, will survive.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We’ll post the revised version here with an updated date, and if the changes are material, we’ll notify you by email or an in app notice at least 5 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
