Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Coinsel (“Coinsel,” “we,” “us”) at coinsel.io and any related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create a Coinsel account. By registering, you confirm you meet that requirement.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us.
You are responsible for keeping your password private and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
One account per person. Don't create an account for someone else without their permission, and don't use a false identity.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, is used fraudulently, or has been inactive for a long time, with notice where practical.

2. The Service

Coinsel shows collectors the coin market near them, with price tools for graded coins and currency. Depending on your plan, the Service lets you:

Set an area by ZIP code and radius, and see auction lots, estate sales, coin shows and dealers inside it.
Use Deal Radar, which lists coin lots from third-party auction sites with a value for each lot, and keep a want list that we check new lots against and email you about. See Section 5.
Browse the show calendar and, on Pro, build a prep sheet for a show and log what you buy there.
Browse the dealer directory, see median offers other users have reported, and report an offer yourself. See Section 6.
Claim and respond on a dealer listing if you run the business. See Section 7.
Look up graded coins by certification number and see PCGS price guide values, population data, sold comps and auction results.
Track a portfolio and set price alerts, and on Pro use Sell Signals, which labels the holdings you have recorded a cost for as sell, hold or watch. See Section 9.
Use the market trends pages, the coin type write-ups, the feed of certified coins listed under guide value and, where your plan includes it, the melt value calculator.

Prices, listings and population data come from third-party sources, including PCGS, NGC, eBay, GreatCollections, and auction and estate sale listing sites. We store this data and refresh it on a schedule, so it is not real time. See Section 9.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Coinsel is offered on three plans: Free, Plus and Pro. Current prices, and what each plan includes, are on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance.

Payment processing. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Coinsel never receives or stores your full card number. See our Privacy Policy.
Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew each billing period at the current price until you cancel.
Cancellation.You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancelling stops future billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We don't give prorated refunds for the unused part of a period, except where the law requires it.
Price changes. If we change subscription prices, we will tell you before the change applies to you. It takes effect at your next renewal at the earliest.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it, move your account to Free, or pause paid features until payment goes through.
Taxes. Prices shown exclude sales tax, VAT or similar taxes, which Stripe may add at checkout based on where you are.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Scrape, crawl or copy data from the Service by automated means, other than through an API we publish for that purpose.
Reverse engineer or decompile the Service, or try to derive its source code.
Resell or redistribute Coinsel's data as a product or feed of your own.
Get around rate limits, plan limits or other access controls.
Use the Service to build a competing product.
Submit an offer report that is false, that you did not receive yourself, or that concerns a business you own, work for or compete with.
Claim a dealer listing you are not authorized to act for, or use a claimed listing's dispute or response tools to mislead.
Post unlawful, infringing, defamatory or fraudulent content, or use Coinsel to misrepresent a coin's authenticity or grade.
Interfere with the Service, including trying to overload it, disrupt it or gain access to parts of it you are not allowed to reach.
Use the Service in breach of any law.

We may suspend or close accounts that break this section.

5. Deal Radar, auction lots and estate sales

Deal Radar lists coin lots found on third-party auction sites, and the Service also lists estate sales that mention coins. Coinsel is not the auctioneer or the seller, and is not a party to any sale. Bidding and buying happen on the auction or estate sale site, under that site's own terms, fees and buyer's premium. We never handle bids or payments.

Listing details come from the listing. Descriptions, photos, grades, estimates, current bids and closing times are what the auctioneer published when we last checked. They can be wrong, change or be withdrawn. Always read the listing itself before you bid.
Values are estimates.A lot's value on Coinsel is based on recent sold comps for the coin we believe the lot to be, or, for raw gold and silver, on the metal it contains. We may misread a listing. A value based on metal content is a floor, not a market price. The spread we show is not a promise that a lot is a good buy.
Timing depends on your plan.On some plans lots appear after a delay and want list emails arrive after bidding has closed. We don't guarantee that any lot or alert reaches you before an auction closes.

6. Dealer offer reports

Coinsel users can report what a dealer offered them for coins. We compare each offer with the coin's comp value on that date and, once a dealer has at least five counted reports in a category, show the median on the dealer's page with the sample size.

Report only what happened to you. A report must describe a real offer made to you by that dealer, as accurately as you can.
Reports are moderated. We may hold, count, decline or remove any report, limit how often you can report, and stop counting reports that look coordinated or false.
Reported offers are not quotes or reviews. The medians show what other users say they were offered. They are not a quote, a prediction of what you will be offered, or a rating of the dealer. Offers depend on the coin, the day and the market.
Your name stays off it. We never show an individual report with your name. The Privacy Policy explains who else can see a report.

7. Dealer listings, claims and responses

Dealer listings are built from public business information, mainly from Google. If something about your business is wrong, contact us and we will correct it.

Claiming.You may claim a listing only if you are authorized to act for that business. We verify a claim by email at the business's own web domain, and may ask for more proof or revoke a claim at any time.
Responses. A claimed listing can post one public response per category. Keep it factual and about your business. We may edit out or remove a response that is abusive, misleading, unlawful or names a customer.
Disputes. A claimed listing can send a report back for review. A dispute does not remove the report. We decide whether it stays.
No paid placement. Claiming a listing, or any business relationship with Coinsel, does not change the offer medians or how dealers are listed.

8. Estimates and calculated features

Melt values are based on spot metal prices and a coin's stated or standard weight and purity. They do not include any numismatic premium and are not an appraisal.

Target and walk-away prices on a show prep sheet are suggestions worked out from stored comps and a discount you choose. They are not quotes, and what a dealer will accept may be very different.

The coin type write-ups are drafted with the help of an AI model from published sources, and may contain mistakes. They are general background, not a description of any coin you own.

None of these is a substitute for professional grading by PCGS or NGC. Don't rely on them alone for buying, selling or insurance decisions.

9. Market data, pricing and content accuracy

PCGS guide values, population reports, eBay listings and sold comps, and auction data are collected from third parties and refreshed on a schedule. They are not live and can lag the market. A guide value is one reference among several, not a guarantee of what a coin will sell for.

Nothing on Coinsel is an appraisal, a guarantee of authenticity or grade, investment advice, or an offer to buy or sell any coin. The market pages' heat index, movers and trends are screens built from the data above, not predictions or recommendations. Use your own judgment, and ask a professional, before buying, selling or submitting a coin based on anything shown here.

We work to keep data accurate, but we don't promise that any price, population figure, listing, auction result or offer median is complete, current or error free. If something looks wrong, please let us know.

Sell Signals

Sell Signals compares the cost and acquisition date you recorded for a holding with sold prices we have collected for the same coin and grade, and labels the holding sell, hold or watch. It looks only at coins you already own, using information already in your account. It is not a forecast of the coin market, and it knows nothing about your finances, taxes or goals. It is calculated by Coinsel. Nothing about your holdings is sent to an AI provider to produce it.

A “sell” label is not a recommendation or advice to sell, and nothing in Sell Signals is investment, financial or tax advice. Coinsel is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, appraiser or fiduciary, and does not act for you in any transaction. Any decision to sell, hold, insure or submit a coin is yours.

Net proceeds and gain are estimates. They use assumed marketplace fees, order fees and shipping costs, which are stated on the Sell Signals page and may not match what you pay. They start from a median of past sales, which is not a price available to you. What a coin actually sells for will differ, sometimes by a lot.
Some coins get no signal. Where there are too few comparable sales for a coin at its grade, we show no signal and say why, rather than guess. Sold comp data is a sample of the market and can lag or miss real sales.
The track record looks back, not forward. Where the Service shows how its past signals turned out, that covers past output on your holdings over a stated period and sample size. Past results do not predict future ones.

10. Affiliate disclosure

Coinsel takes part in affiliate programs, including the eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates, and referral programs with bullion dealers and grading services. Some outbound links, for example to an eBay listing, an Amazon product, a bullion dealer or a grading service, are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something or take a qualifying step, Coinsel may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not affect price guide values, sold comps, lot values, offer medians or any other data shown on Coinsel, and they don't change which listings appear or in what order.

If you opt in to marketing email, we may send you offers from these partners. Coinsel picks and sends them itself, and partners do not receive your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any such email.

11. Third-party sites and services

The Service links to and shows data from third parties we don't control, including PCGS, NGC, eBay, Amazon, GreatCollections, auction and estate sale sites, bullion dealers, and local dealers and shops. We aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Your use of any third-party site is governed by its own terms.

12. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software and the content Coinsel writes, belongs to Coinsel or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Third-party data shown on the Service, such as PCGS guide values and population data, eBay listings, auction listings and auction results, belongs to whoever supplies it. Your right to use it is limited to viewing it within the Service.

“Coinsel” and our logo are our trademarks. Don't use them without our written permission.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to the Service, such as portfolio notes, want lists, prep sheet entries, offer reports and dealer responses (“your content”). You give Coinsel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store your content and show it back to you as part of running the Service. For offer reports, the license also lets us use them in the medians and statistics we publish, and keep using them in that form after you close your account. For dealer responses, it lets us show them publicly on the listing. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to submit it.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA, ESTIMATES AND CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY PRICE, LOT VALUE, OFFER MEDIAN, ALERT OR OTHER DATA SHOWN IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR DELIVERED ON TIME.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COINSEL AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM ANY DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON DATA, LOT VALUES, OFFER MEDIANS, PREP SHEET PRICES, SELL SIGNALS, ESTIMATED PROCEEDS OR AI-GENERATED CONTENT SHOWN ON IT, INCLUDING A DECISION TO BID ON, BUY, SELL, HOLD, INSURE OR SUBMIT A COIN FOR GRADING, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain damages to be excluded or limited, so some of the limits above may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Coinsel harmless from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, your content (including any offer report or dealer response you submit), or your breach of these Terms.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and ask us to delete your account through the contact page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or discontinue the Service or any part of it, with reasonable notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 12 through 15.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the new version here with a new date. If the changes are material, we will tell you by email or a notice in the Service at least 5 days before they take effect. Using the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
