Is this offer a lowball?
Tell us the coin and what you were offered for it. We compare the offer with what the same coin has sold for recently and with its melt value, and tell you whether it is in the normal range for a dealer buy price.
What a fair offer looks like
A dealer has to resell the coin and make a living doing it, so a fair buy price is usually 60 to 80 percent of what the coin sells for. An offer under melt value is always low, whatever the coin.
Prices come from recent sales of PCGS and NGC certified coins. If you tell us the coin is raw, not in a grading holder, we adjust that price down, since raw coins sell for less. A coin described without a grade usually gets a melt value only.
