California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA): Last updated: August 2026
This notice supplements our Privacy Policyand applies to California residents. It describes the categories of personal information Coinsel collects, how we use and disclose it, and the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”).
1. Categories of personal information we collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA. See Privacy Policy Section 1 for the full detail behind each row.
| CCPA category | Examples on Coinsel | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address, account ID, IP address | You, automatically |
| Customer records | Billing address, card brand, last 4 digits, and expiration date (full card number goes directly to Stripe, never to us) | You, our payment processor |
| Commercial information | Subscription plan and history, watchlist and portfolio holdings, purchase prices you enter, saved searches | You |
| Internet or network activity | Pages viewed, features used, search and query history, session and device data, cookies | Automatically |
| Geolocation data | Approximate coordinates derived from a ZIP or postal code you enter for the Local section. We do not collect precise (GPS level) location. | You |
| Inferences | Aggregated, de-identified usage patterns used to improve the Service. Not used to build an individual profile for advertising. | Derived, automatically |
We do not collect protected classification characteristics, biometric information, sensory data, or professional, employment, or education information. See Section 4 below on sensitive personal information.
2. How we use it
We use personal information for the business purposes described in Privacy Policy Section 2 — operating and securing your account, delivering price and market data, processing billing, sending transactional email, providing customer support, and improving the Service. We do not use it to build advertising profiles about you.
3. Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information to the service providers listed in Privacy Policy Section 3 (Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Anthropic, mapping providers, our hosting provider, and similar vendors), each bound by contract to use it only to perform services for us. These disclosures are made for our business purposes, not in exchange for money or other valuable consideration.
4. Do we sell or share personal information?
No. Coinsel does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.
Because we don’t sell or share, there is nothing to opt out of today — but where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it as a valid CCPA opt out preference signal for your visit, consistent with California law.
5. Sensitive personal information
The CCPA gives you the right to limit a business’s use of sensitive personal information to what’s necessary to provide the service. Coinsel doesn’t collect government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or similarly sensitive categories, and the limited financial information we do hold (card brand, last 4 digits, expiration date) is used only to display your billing status and process renewals — never for any other purpose. Because we don’t use sensitive personal information beyond what’s necessary to run the Service, there is nothing additional to limit, but you’re welcome to contact us with questions.
6. Your CCPA rights
If you’re a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know / Access.Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we’ve collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we’ve disclosed it to.

To exercise any of these rights, contact usand tell us which right you’re exercising. You can also authorize someone to make a request on your behalf; we’ll ask for written proof of that authorization and may still need to verify your identity directly.
We verify requests by confirming control of the email address on your account, and may ask for additional information if needed to verify identity for a request to know specific pieces of information. We will respond within 45 days of a verifiable request, extendable by another 45 days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you.
