About this show

Decatur Coin Show & Marketplace LLC runs this monthly show, held on the first Sunday of each month year-round, with 95 eight-foot tables inside the heated and air-conditioned hall and an outdoor vendor section that has topped 69 sellers in good weather. Dealers travel from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Kentucky. It operates as a combined coin show and general marketplace, so coin dealers, several of whom buy and sell gold, silver and other bullion, set up alongside vendors selling antiques, collectibles, crafts and salvage. Food service is handled by the show itself, with rolls and coffee in the morning and a hot lunch served in the dinette area.

  • The event began in the early 1960s and is now in its sixth decade.
  • The Adams County Coin Club founded and ran the show, selling the market in December 2019; the present LLC took over as sponsor in January 2020.
  • The show started at the local American Legion hall before moving to the former Decatur Youth and Community Center as it outgrew the space.
  • When the first Sunday falls on Easter or New Year's Day, the show may shift to the second Sunday.

Before you go

Bring a sheet built from your want list: what each coin is worth right now, what to pay and when to walk. Print it, or keep it on your phone. It opens with no signal, which in most show halls is the signal you get.
