About this show

The Lower Cape Fear Coin Club, which has served southeastern North Carolina since 1963, holds this annual show each April as an official event of the North Carolina Azalea Festival. About 50 dealer tables are occupied by more than 30 dealers drawn from several surrounding states, buying, selling, trading and appraising coins, currency and other numismatic material. Free appraisals are available on the floor for coins, medals, gold, silver and paper money, and coins are also put out on display for viewing.

  • The club has been associated with the Azalea Festival for close to 50 years.
  • Children attending are given free foreign coins as an introduction to currency and world geography.
  • A raffle, including gold and silver American Eagle coins, is run as a club fundraiser.
  • The show is the club's main public activity alongside its monthly meetings and newsletter, Coinfusion.

Before you go

Bring a sheet built from your want list: what each coin is worth right now, what to pay and when to walk. Print it, or keep it on your phone. It opens with no signal, which in most show halls is the signal you get.
