About this shop

A numismatic collectors' club rather than a retail dealer, meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at the Emerson Art Gallery in the Palisades Business Center, with an hour of member buying, selling and trading from 5:00 to 6:00 PM before the 6:00 to 8:00 PM meeting. Programs include coin talks, guest speakers, auctions, evaluation days and youth activities, and meetings generally cover brief club business and a market update. The club normally runs two coin shows a year, recently at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale and earlier at the Fountain Hills Community Center, where visiting dealers and collectors set up tables to buy, sell and trade. Show proceeds come in part from gold and silver coin raffles and a silent auction.

  • Formerly known as the Fountain Hills Coin Club, it marks its 20th anniversary in 2026.
  • John Gibson is president and co-founder, and Carl Spencer serves as treasurer.
  • Its 26th coin show, held March 22, 2025, drew 25 dealers and more than 160 attendees to a single six-hour session.
  • Membership is open to beginning, novice and advanced collectors, with an application posted on the club site.

Know your numbers first

Walk in with a value in mind. Look up the cert number on anything slabbed, and check recent sold comps so you can tell a fair offer from a fast one.
